On November 8, IBS Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Myanmar Engineering Council (MEngC) to advance Korea’s intelligent building industry through international cooperation.

The MOU signing ceremony was held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at the MEngC headquarters in Yangon, Myanmar.
From IBS Korea, Jun-chul Kwon (Director and Vice Chair of the International Exchange Committee), Director Kyung-il Lee, and Tae-wan Kim (CEO of member company Suns Co., Ltd.) attended the event.
From MEngC, President Dr. Charlie Than, executive members, and numerous engineering council members graced the occasion with their presence.

Following this MOU, IBS Korea plans to encourage the adoption of Korean-style smart buildings in Myanmar by sharing Korea’s established intelligent building systems, educational programs, and domestic technologies and solutions.

Furthermore, IBS Korea will pilot the installation and operation of essential smart building systems developed by Korean companies, establishing them as benchmark standards for smart buildings in Myanmar.

In addition, IBS Korea will promote fleet-style global expansion involving the government, associations, and private enterprises by aligning with various government support initiatives, such as Official Development Assistance (ODA), export promotion projects, and joint international research programs.
